A lot of pink

This really is a spring trench, but i decided to give it a try fall time as well.
To continue with the pink theme, i combined it with a pale pink shirt and my favorite pale pink shoes.

What ever it takes

Designers, artists, royalty, Nobel prize winners, all have one thing in common: they are ready to do what ever it takes for worthy cause. Even designing symbols, graphics, to be used on "merchandises with a meaning".

These artworks are used to create Whatever It Takes products: 'merchandise with a meaning'. From wristbands to clothing, from tableware to cosmetics and footwear, each product is ethically produced and sold to raise funds for charitable causes chosen by each contributing leader. Companies including Vans, Eastpak, Churchill China, Dr Hauschka and Lee Jeans have so far joined 21CL in their determination to do Whatever It Takes for charity by creating products under licence.

The aim is to raise a minimum of $3 million over three years to fund charitable projects in developing countries, contribute to the protection of the environment and other charitable causes.

You can buy the products from whateverittakes.org, or from other retailers. Among the designers involved: Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and many others. I've bought the pinky mug designed by Donna Karan, and i love it (it's for my future cuisine in my new apartement - almost done now, can't wait to move it!). But you can find many other goods, jewelry or home articles. That's a shopping with a cause! What's your favorite product?

Red dress + Pointy shoes

Pointy shoes are making a comeback this season (see Chloe's collection), so i got out of the closet my Bally pointy sling backs to wear today.

* GAP (RED) dress
* Karen Millen leather jacket
* scarf Steilmann
* Bally shoes

Trick or treat

I love to wear a costume for Halloween Party, but i also love to dress up Halloweenish during the day of October 31.

Last year i wore Halloween special tights to the office and i felt great, so this year i am looking for new things to spice up my Halloween day outfit.

Of course, you can bet to find in Thomas Wilde or Alexander McQueen 's collections a lot of skull decorated items. I wanted for a very long time a skull scarf by McQueen, and maybe it is time to buy one.

Another classic of McQueen are the skull t-shirt. I already own one, and it is a great piece to wear for a casual outfit, with a rock&roll vibe. It is great also to wear for a Halloween chic outfit.

What it will be Halloween if you will not wear some skull jewellery? For cool designs, try Jade Jagger's or the Zoe & Morgan collections.

At last, the shoes. I already told you that i love the Thomas Wilde Warrior skull boots, but i sure cannot afford them. But instead, i like the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Skull tie ballet flats. They are fierce red, with a rock chic edge. Plus they are on 50% sale on net-a-porter.com.

Liberty prints

Suzie from StyleBubble is questioning if is there anyone thinking about Liberty Prints, now that all the world seems taken by leather and studs. Well, i am :) and to proove that i was inspired today to wear my Cacharel for La Redoute shoes i bought sooo unbelievable cheap this summer. They are from a line designed by the British duo Clements Ribeiro for La Redoute several years ago (2005 i think). The entire range used the signature Cacharel ‘Liberty’ print to decorate everything from teacups to cardigans, and there were (of course) some shoes added in for good measure.

Some more outfits

I promised you i will try to take some better outfit photos, and actually i did several pictures this last week with my Casio pocket camera (far better picture quality then the iphone). But as it is my luck, my usb connection is broken, so i couldn't download the pictures to post them. The damn usb is still broken, but because i needed some picture from the camera for work, i made an effort and download them via my Ferrari laptop.

So here they are, random outfits from last week:

Back to skirts

Due to my love for my new pairs of jeans (both the nectar colored ones and the Penelope & Monica Cruz ones) I find myself with lots of unworn skirts.

Last weekend I edited my wardrobe, and I got rid of a huge amount of clothes. But in the same time, in the process of giving away my old clothes, I rediscovered my cute-cute fall-winter skirts.

Today I am actually wearing an almost new skirt, I bought it this summer, and I tried it here during one hot day. But the skirt seems to me more like a fall one, so here it is my cold weather combination.

* Morgan top
* Olive fringe detail skirt by Pringle 1815
* Principles patent shoes (from Debenhams)
* Trou d'Aiguille black jacket

Later edit: one more picture, with the jacket

Movie in the afternoon...

It is mine.... Finally mine! After weeks and weeks of stalking laredoute.fr to see when this becomes available, after days of waiting the package to arrive, the BAG is finally mine...

Shinsuké KAWAHARA is a designer who worked for big brands like Hermes or Baccarat, but also opened a hip restaurant in Paris. His passion for rabbits can easily be noticed in the decorations he designed himself for "Usagi", that's the name of his restaurant (which by the way i have to visit on my next trip to Paris), but also in the nice graphics that are on the bag he created for La Redoute (part of "The French Touch" collection). It is available in navy and pink, and it is actually bigger that looks in the picture. The graphics are very cute, with rabbits (of course), but also deers, birds and flowers. And inside, it has lots of pockets, that is just perfect for me.

A little focus on the cute graphics. The bag is now on sale, i am also thinking on buying the pink one. What do you think?

And now for the outfit itself:

* Ziggo skirt
* Colin Stuart peep-toe booties
* Marc Jacobs trompe l'oeuil t-shirt
* Gas leather jacket
* Shinsuké KAWAHARA bag for La Redoute

Starbucks in the morning

Just got back from a quick trip to Starbucks to grab a cup of Tazo tea and a cheese cake (i am addicted to those cakes). I bought this dress last winter, but it was too cold then to where it, so it patiently waited for me to notice it again in my closet.

* no brand dotted red dress
* black shoes, Rocha. John Rocha for Debenhams (bought really cheap from a clothes fair last year)

PS: Notice the bag in the background of the shoes pictures? It is from a very special pair of boots i just bought from BSB. Pictures to come.

HE for fall

The HE Mango line was a success, so the spanish fashion chain re-done it for fall. This time, the HE man is a urban, go green man. He dresses in neutral tones, mixing suit jackets with thick knitwear, and so to match his woman HE wears a lot of scarfs and large canvas bags too. Biker-style boots are a must as well.

I liked the summer collection, and i like this fall one as well. I will love to convince my hb to buy one of the HE bags, so he can carry some of the things we need with us when in holiday, cause my back is exhausted... Do your man carry around man-bags?

Another part of the collection i like, and i am speaking now for my hb as well, are the shirts. Mango propose fitted shirts, in classic white or checkered with white collar. I would buy them all! Let's see Sunday if i can trick my hb into going to a Mango store, to try a few and see what he likes.

Glamour a la Dita von Teese for Wonderbra

The burlesque Dita von Teese, the ex-wife of Marilyn Manson was co-opted by no-less glamour lingerie brand Wonderbra to design a special collection inspired by her own personal style. Of course, the gorgeous Dita modeled the underwear herself, with a sexy attitude that makes you wanting at least a piece immediately.

Asked about her collection, she said:
“Lingerie shouldn’t be something you just put on for your lover; you should do it for you. It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood. Lingerie is one of the things that came into play when I was starting to create my own mystique and glamour.” ” and because one of the bra and bottom combos has an easy-off magnetic clip, making removal easier than ever, Wonderbra stated “making daring stripteases a cinch”.

Dita's lingerie has a vintage feeling, the sexy bras and bottoms combining shapes from the 1950s and fabrics from the 1940s.

The "Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese" collection includes garter belts, panties, suspenders, thongs and, of course, bras inspired by old Hollywood glamour. The colors vary from the always sexy and mysterious black, to peach-nude and gray.

Dita von Teese collection for Wonderbra is available starting this month in several selected shops, and you can buy it online from Asos.com or laredoute.fr. I've already ordered from the French site several pieces, including the bow bra with velvet and sequined details that is my personal favorite.

Dreaded Monday

Still sick, i gathered myself this morning to go to the office. I will not stay at home anymore! After all, how many episodes of Quantum leap can a girl watch in a row?

* Karen Millen green cardigan
* Karen Millen shirt
* Penelope & Monica Cruz for Mango jeans
* Zara peep-toe patent booties

Can you see the cute ruffles of the cardigan? (btw: as soon as i get well, i will start taking better pictures!)

Dinner out

Yesterday it was my mother's-in-law birthday, so we went out for a small celebrating dinner. I was planning on a different outfit, involvin a gray sweater tank-dress from Zara, but i decided against it because i didn't have any jacket that worked well with it. So i kept the shoes and tights i planned to wear, and quickly changed the dress.

* COS sweater dress
* H&M tights
* Finsk for Faith sandals
* Topshop cardigan
* tattoo style shopping tote, Longchamp, from the Moerman Special Edition Collection

A weekend in Cairo

For me, a fun-filled holiday should have at least 3 of the following:

* sun
* visits to interesting places
* some activities involving cute animals (visiting a zoo, riding a horse, learning more about a specific animal etc)
* nice sea/ocean/pool to swim it
* delicious food
* fun things (such as amusement parks, cruises etc)
* shopping

Well, my recent 3 day trip to Egypt, for our 8 years anniversary, had almost all. It was sunny, we've visited some of the most interesting buildings on earth (the Pyramids), we were riding the camels (for the first time in my life, what an experience!), we had a large pool with direct view to the Pyramids to swim in and we ate delicious food, especially during the Nile Dinner Cruise in the second night of our stay. I think shopping was the only thing missing from the list above, and that's only because I really hate bazaars and bargaining for my buys. The vendors were so annoying, always trying to make me into buying things, that after getting some souvenirs I got so sicked of them, and decided not to buy anything else.

The perfect place for a Jimmy Choo

I decided that the perfect bag for this trip would be my summer white large bag from Jimmy Choo and I was right. The first day we went to visit the Pyramids, the Sphinx, Memphis and Sakkara (the step pyramid), and my bag hold it all: one bottle of water, 2 apples, 2 bananas (there is nothing to eat in the desert, around the Pyramids), one big camera (Canon 350D), one small camera (Casio Exilim), one lens for zooming and my wallet. Did Mr. Jimmy Choo thought when designing this bag that it will end up riding a camel?

* Fox cargo pants
* Promod blouse
* Jimmy Choo bag
* Sam Edelman gladiator sandals

Dinner Cruise on Nile

That same evening, we booked a nice dinner cruise on Nile, the impressive river of Egypt. During 2 hours, we could see the waterfront of the interesting city of Cairo. Such a huge difference between different neighborhoods in this town! Both sides of the Nile are surrounded by tall modern buildings (many of them foreign companies or expensive hotels), but if you go deeper into town you can see very small, shabby (almost horror) houses for the "normal" people.

* white pants, Benetton
* purple clutch, H&M
* paisley blouse, Promod
* Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker peep-toe canvas platforms
* "A tribute to Marimekko" large chunky necklace by H&M

The heights of culture

Our second day was reserved for a visit to the Egyptian Museum and for climbing on the top of Cairo Tower, just to get a good look at the surroundings. In the evening we went to the Lights & Sound Show in front of the Sphinx, a nice show in which the Sphinx told us all about the history of Egypt, from its point of view.

* Limited Edition Marks & Spencer top
* Fox cargo pants
* (not shown) Mango flowers flats
* Jimmy Choo bag

PS: Have I done well with the outfits, considering my initial "packing impediments"? While in Egypt, I saw 2 kinds of outfits (for us, the western tourist women): the ones that read before traveling about the dress code in Egypt dressed similar with me, large cotton blouses, at least bermuda-long pants, and the ones that didn't care, that were dressed in short pants (some of them really short - not only the Egyptian men starred at them) and revealing blouses.
