Modern cowgirl

Sale shopping the other day i came across this pair of cowgirl pants from Teranova, at around 3 euro.

At a higher price maybe i would long debate to buy or not to buy such a strange pair of pants, but at this price tag i didn't think for a second.

* leather vest from Guara
* Madonna by H&M silk shirt
* Madonna by H&M leather nude belt
* brogue style pumps, Miu Miu
* cowgirl pants from Teranova

Outfit for today: Leather dress

While Saturday i was in a Mango store, Sunday i visited Zara for some more sale shopping. Since i am decided to buy from shops like Zara only extremely interesting, original pieces, it is just normal that an all leather dress caught my eye.

It is a great shade of grey, and at 100euro (reduced from 200euro) i think it is quite a bargain.

* leather dress Zara
* grey ankle boots, Ziggo
* Miu Miu pink leather bracelet
* Pieces belt

And searching a little online to see how to style such a dress, i came up with these results:

Marks&Spencer limited edition leather dress / Giles Deacon FW07/08 leather dress / H&M

Shopping sales: Mango dresses

Saturday i went to Mango to see if i can still find anything at all, considering that they had 70% percent off all week.

And i ended up with 3 dresses: the simple black one is from Milla Jojovich Night Collection, the studded black one is from New York Limited collection, and the black and white one is so in trend that i could not resist it.

Outfits for weekend: Stella McCartney for H&M

When Stella's capsule collection for H&M was launched i could not buy anything because i was not near a H&M. Since them from time to time, i spy on ebay to see if i can find something from it.

And a few days ago i was lucky: the denim skirt, in my size, was for sale. Yey for my bidding technique!

Bold monochrome patterns

Monochrome graffiti print sleeveless from Moschino Cheap & Chic; Black-and-white sleeveless cotton dot print dress by Vivienne Westwood Anglomania

This spring, oversized floral or geometrical prints are a fun flirty interpretation of the classic color combination of black and white.

Ikat print bomber jacket and Ikat print V-neck sleeveless dress, both Oscar de la Renta;

Wear monochrome pattern dresses with a wide white belt, white shoes and bag, or, au contraire, go with black as your choice color for accessories. Your look will be sleek and chic, perfect for a relaxed business meeting.

Contrast this eye-catching monochrome style against flashes of vivid red accessories for a graphic take on one of spring's key looks, and go out dressed like this to impress your date.

Outfit for today: Fur details

Fashion against AIDS

If you are like me and you buy each spring a new set of approx 5 tees, then maybe this year you will choose to do 2 things at a time: add cute pieces to your wardrobe and help raising funds for HIV/AIDS-prevention projects around the world.

I am talking of course about the new project H&M will launch in the stores beginning of february. Rihanna, Chicks on Speed, Good Charlotte, Henrik Vibskov, Jade Jagger, Justice, Katharine Hamnett, My Chemical Romance, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Tiga, Timbaland and Ziggy Marley are the artists that were designing (free of charge) t-shirts, hoods and tanktops for a limited collection meant to draw attention to HIV/AIDS and increase young people’s awareness of it.

Besides the humanitarian side, the t-shirts have a really simple/interesting design. If i will have a chance (meaning if i will be near a H&M soon), i will definitely buy the "Love" grey one designed by Cardigans, the black with umbrella print by Good Charlotte and the white tank top by Rufus Wainwright. Maybe also Jagger's and Rihanna's.. And TIGA designed a cute pink hood, that suits my tastes at perfection.

The capsule collection includes some pieces for men as well. My favorite are the ones designed by Timbaland.

Colorful bags

I think i really like the colorful bags i can see everywhere in the spring collections.

Shopping sales

I must admit that I've gone a little insane this beginning of the year sales. I mean...There were literally some days that i spent thinking about were to shop next.
But the result is somehow...well, OK.

First, there were the sales in Wien. Bally was a sure target, and i ended up with a pair of block color shoes in red and green. Oh, and i went also to Peek and Clopenburg, usually a very nice store to shop in, but this time of the year it was so full of people, that the air was not even breathable. I bought a belt from Versace Jeans just not to leave with empty hands, and because a friend of mine was already in a good position at the queues from the cashiers.

Going back home we stoped at the Outlet near Wien (Parndorf), were everything had an additional reduction. I was tempted by a pair of leather pants from Versace (from 1000 reduced to 300 euro), but i finally bought a cute multicolor blazer from Escada and a navy and white skirt from the same store.

Back home, i got the mail with the 75%off announce from net-a-porter.com, and i was lucky enough to get my hands on TWO chloe bags, with a 75% sale. I am talking about a large BAY in white patent and a small Eddie leather shoulder bag. Thene there were shoes: a pair of Juniper slingback sandals from Michael Kors that i was eyeing for some time now and the pair of Brogue-style pumps from Miu Miu i was lusting over the entire last season.
I also picked some blouses: an owl print t-shirt, See by Chloe, a Crochet back sweater from Helmut Lang (adorable) and a ribbed wool sweater from Derek Lam (so versatile).
A belt from Chloe and a wrap dress from Diane von Furstenberg completed the order.

Insane, didn't i tell you?
But, did i stop here? Nooo, i want to be broke completely till the end of the month, that is for sure. Next, i visited Victoria's Secret, for some unresolved "business" left there a while ago. I am talking of course about a ruched one-piece swim suit from DKNY in a glamour pink color. I added also a swim suit from Michael Kors while there (because 7 days by the sea side definitely require more that one swimsuit, right?).
Then i just wanted to see the brutal pair of boots from Sam Edelman everyone in the blogosphere is talking about, and that's how i felt in love with the pair of Lace-up boots from the same designer (picture bellow).
Just for fun i also bought a cute clutch from Steven Madden (reduced at 19$) in bright pink. Who knows when i will need it desperately, right?

It was then "La Redoute" time. A mini high waist skirt from the collection LOU DOILLON design for LA REDOUTE is just perfect for office, and a matching pair of ballerinas and large bag from Antik Batik was just what i was pictured for this spring romantic trend.

In Bucharest the sales started 2 days ago, but i didn't yet find the time to visit properly the shops. I only went to Mango, from were i bought 2 dresses: one black, office style and one with a flower pattern, for the summer. More to come! :) Oh, yes, and i am still having some items in my "La Redoute" basket...

Block color shoes

The block color trend (which means that basically your outfit will consist of a composition of different colors, completely different) was taken in consideration also by shoe designers like Manolo Blahnik, , Christian Louboutin, Bally

Burgundy/topaz patent leather, Manolo Blahnik

Two tone high wedge heeled shoe by B Store with ribbon lace up

Patent Rainbow Flat Sandal, Fendi

Asymmetric strappy sandals, Stella McCartney

They all agree what seems to me obvious: multicolor straps looks better in patent, a trend that seems to be here for a while.

Black/hot pink patent leather open toe slingback, Christian Louboutin

I sort of guessed this trend, considering the fact that while in Wien, before i had the chance to browse through the new spring collections, my eyes were distracted by a khaki & red pair of sandals, in sales from Bally.

As how to wear such shoes (because you have to admit that more that one color in a pair screams a little bit of trouble)... I plan to match mine with a similar shade of khaki opaque tights, khaki skirt, white shirt and khaki blazer. And that means that one good plan is to choose one color from your shoes, and pair it with tights (and the rest of your outfit).

I tried mines also with dark jeans. And the result was quite glamorous, the red&khaki patent bringing substance to an otherwise simple pair of jeans.

Or if you are bold enough, try some more. Pink and black shoes, pink and black dress . Be very careful, but with the right proportion can be a style that will definitely bring you to attention.

Ski equipment a la feminine

It is winter, hence the season for ski (or snowboard). In the past, those sports were utterly related to big, chunky and mostly manly clothes. But not anymore. Now the sport brands (finally!) understand that, yes!, women like their skis to be pink, and, how strange, we like our clothes to flatter our body, and not hide it behind huge (waterproof) material of equipment.

So, what can we choose to wear on the tracks?

Stella McCartney designs one of the most successful sport collaborations, for adidas. The collections contains various equipment for different sports, including winter ones. I bought for myself the the Wintersports Saga boots, in black, for after ski shoes and i am extremely pleased with the level of comfort and warmness they provide me. The lines also includes ski equipment, gloves and some thermal long sleeve tees.

Rossignol, the huge french brand for "mountain sports" begun a few years ago two very successful collaborations, with Emilio Pucci and JC de Castelbajac, for designing soft goods and also skis and snowboards for girls.

The Pucci collection has a retro air, in signature funny prints. While last year the main colors were blue and vivid green, this year the tones are a little bit downer, with shades like brown or purple.

JC de Castelbajac maintains its original designs for Rossignol as well. This year is all about blue and white, with red stripes just to spice things up. You can also buy matching skis...

Of course, all the other important brands for ski wear also have dedicated girls collections. Among o'neill, salomon etc, i prefer chiemsee, finding their designs fresh and very feminine.

And if you are a HUGE fan of winter sports, with a HUGE budget to spend on your gear, go on and try the collections from luxury brands like Chanel, Dior or Escada. Victoria Beckam sure does it!

Coral shoes

While i am sure i will still wear a lot of navy during this spring, and that khaki (which i recently become quite addicted, after a Calvin Klein blazer, 2 Boss tops and 1 pair of Bally sandals purchases) will be a preferred color. But while browsing through the spring collections that are already online, i could not love the gorgeous coral shade, used to create such gorgeous shoes by my 2 favorite brands: Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu.

The Marc Jacobs Mouse shoes are sure a signature style of the designer. And in coral jelly are simply irresistible. A must have for next summer Holiday, perfect with a beach dress or a simple pair of jeans.

Glitter strappy sandals from Marc by Marc Jacobs are great for a fun approach of day time wear. Perfect to be paired with some dark/neutral clothes.

Vivid Miu Miu sandals. I definitely would match them with some yellow pale clothes.

I saved for last my favorites: the Marc Jacobs sandals are breath taking. With a vintage feeling and shiny leather, they are just perfect for my way of dressing. What to do: order them now, or wait for the sales? Tough question indeed.
