Outfit for today: Blue and black

Saturday night we went to see Bucket List, a movie i liked very much. I've bought those blue opaque tights a very long time, from a H&M in Wien, but did not get around to wear them till now. But they seemed now like the perfect combination for the Zara black leather dress, this way the dress has no sexy/aggressive ingredient what's so ever, but a funny/funky appeal.

* blue opaque tights, H&M
* All about black shoes
* Sonya by Sonya Rykiel wool gloves (THE piece for this spring)

Fragrance day

Yesterday was a sweet-smelling day for me. First, I finally get to buy the Cyntia Rowley for Avon flagrance i wanted for a very long time (but i don't have an Avon store near me). I bought this perfume not only for the sweet smell, but mostly for the sleek and chic white retro bottle. It will look great in my new bathroom... While in the Avon store i picked as well a small bottle of the perfume by Christian Lacroix.

Then, there was the new Moon Sparkle Escada fragrance that i had to have at all costs (i collect all the limited editions of summer Escada perfumes). I was lucky enough to get the gift set, which includes a shower gel and a cute makeup bag. I also wanted to buy the man version of it, but Sephora near me was out of it.

Lazy day at the mountains

It seems that i get to wear my comfy, casual, sporty clothes a lot more that i anticipated. For a second consecutively weekend we went to the mountains, to Predeal and Brasov.

* Disney belt (bought from Disneyland Paris :))
* Baby Phat sneakers
* Upla bag

Yuki, being the fashion dog that he is, is wearing a heart-leopard coat that suits the chilly/sunny weather outside.

The shapes of a bathing suit...

I've already bought 2 swimsuits (DKNY and Michael Kors) for next summer in Mexico, and I've also spotted some interesting ones in the Marimekko-H&M collection that will hit stores 10Th of April. So you can imagine that this one-shoulder bikini set from Poko Pano Couture by Paola Robba, that i immediately loved, is not exactly what i need right now...

Floral

Every spring, every single magazine writes the same thing: bring on the florals, it's their time! Ya, it's easy to say that floral prints are in trend, but what exactly it is trendy this particular spring?

Black and white florals

Designers like Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli or Temperley London offer this spring a new life for the classic black and white color scheme: floral prints in black and white, creating bold monochrome patterns.

For a casual look, match those dresses with a pair of tights in bold colors like blue or fuchsia and black ballerinas. For a more elegant touch, add high heels in black and white, and nude stockings.

Floral print shoes

Olivia Morris collaborated with textile designer Celia Birtwell in creating multicolored satin gorgeous shoes. Since the focus will definitely be on your shoes, i suggest pairing them with an all-black dress or ensemble.

Unusual combinations

It is a skull, but if you look closer, you can see the floral motif. Good girl undercover, what else to expect from Alexander McQueen.

Yellow

I've already said that yellow is the new red, and you can be sure of that by counting the amount of yellow in the floral dresses and tops this spring. Diane vor Furstenberg or Tibi are among the designers that choosed the yellow way.

And at the end, i could not resist to add the most unusual clutch I've ever seen: Cherry wood floral engraved box clutch by Stella McCartney.

Trompe l'oeil t-shirts

There is something about trompe l'oeil t-shirts that is simply irresistible to me. I can't but lust over every single one of them.
I have already one from last year's collection of See by Chloe, and now I've just bought another one from Mango, with a trompe l'oeil of a Balenciaga-ese scarf.

But this spring it seems that every high street store/designer brand has at least one available.

Black cotton blend T-shirt with sequined trompe l'oeil Peter Pan collar and buttons from Sass&Bide

Fuchsia cotton cap sleeve t-shirt with gray bow print on front, Juicy Couture

Navy cotton T-shirt with a trompe l'oeil neckerchief print from Marc Jacobs (ordered, but did not arrived yet)

Lust...

Red-and-white striped fitted blouse with shawl collar from Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania collection.

Outfit for today: Pixelated flowers

Probably my favorite dress this spring: the pixelated flower printed dress from the collection of Penelope & Monica Cruz for Mango.

* dress Penelope & Monica Cruz for Mango
* patent shoes, Principles from Debenhams

Kimono

Kimono-inspired clothes were a huge trend the last few seasons. But why not wear the real thing?

Ever since my dad return from China with this cute short kimono jacket as a gift for me, i thought of ways to wear it. Simple it seems too large and not flattering enough. But add a large belt, and voila. The perfect fitted jacket to match a silk pleated skirt.

* short kimono, gift from my dad from China
* pleated coral skirt, Viktor&Rolf for H&M
* white shirt with lace details
* patent black shoes, Principles/Debenhams

Fresh and green

I think i've already said that i love mountain trips, when i can dress as sporty as i feel, without feeling weird. No more high heels, no more tight skirts and tights. Just jeans and a simple t-shirt. And if a little cold, a cute cardigan.

* white jeans, CK
* Paul and Joe t-shirt
* Baby Phat Converse-like shoes
* white with colorfull buttons cardigan from Steilmann

Comfy friday night

After a day in Marc Jacobs heels and tight Gucci skirt, i felt the need in the evening to be extremely comfortable. And what more could i want than a pair of Olivia Morris' ballerinas and a cute dress from Mango?

* Olivia Morris tattoo ballerinas
* Limited Edition Mango fuchsia dress
* American Apparel Prada-like socks
* brown coat, Naf Naf

The army of shoes awaits!

Wife dressing

Inspired by "Wife Dressing" a delicate guide to fashion written by American designer Anne Fogarty in the 50s, i felt a little retro today, so the vintage Gucci skirt i bought several weeks ago from ebay came in handy.

* M by Madonna ivory silk shirt (i told you it became a basic)
* vintage Gucci skirt
* M by Madonna ivory patent large belt
* Marc by Marc Jacobs nude pumps

Ps: I've spent several minutes thinking about what color of tights should go with this outfit. What do you think about this potato/earth color?

Outfit for today: Bow day...

When i bought this shirt from Madonna's collection for H&M i never thought that it will become a basic piece of my wardrobe. And it works wonderfully with bow details, such as the giant wool bow from this Sonya by Sonya Rykiel dress.

Fake tattoos

I've always been coquetting with the idea of getting a tattoo, not a real one of course (i am too chicken to do that), but a henna one that will last for several months. A nice flower on the ankle or a butterfly on the shoulder.

Expecting to get the courage even for the henna one, i played with some sticker tattoos in the car, returning from Chamonix.

I quite enjoyed the cute butterfly on my hand. And the eyes pointed to my hand in stores.

Modern Cinderella: The story of a Dior shoe

Once upon a time, in the far away land of Paris, there was a huge Dior clearance, and the princess was ready to fight her enemies (i.e. women with the same shoe size) in order to win many many prizes.
Everybody fought at their best, and the princess was lucky and smart (she thought) to win not one, but 4 awards (i.e. shoe pairs) of the precious Dior shoes.

Back home, the princess tried her new possessions, one by one, with a growing delight as each pair was more amazing then the last. Till the last one, which, by accident, had one shoe a different size then the other.

Years passed, and the unlucky Dior shoes remained closed in the wardrobe, because the princess did not had the heart to throw away such perfect shoes. That is until few months ago, when the princess met a skillful shoe maker, which, by magic, was able to make the larger shoes the same size as the other.

Happy ending! End of story! Can wait for summer, so i can proudly wear my new (reborn) Dior sandals.

Focus on shoes

More and more, i see the designers shifting from clothes/bags/other accessories to shoes, whom receive an enormous attention and creativity.

Either it is the material or the unusual shade, the elaborated model or the embelished heel, you can see it all this spring.

Unusual materials

Hi-tech sports-inspired green acrylic sandals from Stella McCartney

Where them with neutral, simple clothes in different pastel shades of green and beige. You can try a sporty-chic look.

Out of the ordinary shades

Green patent leather sandals by Marc Jacobs

Teal leather closed toe T-bar sandals, Miu Miu

Mint patent leather stiletto pumps by Rupert Sanderson

The worst thing you can do with this gorgeous shoes is match them with the exact shade of bag/clothes. Instead, wear them with different colors, either you combine them with jeans, neutral or even other strong colors.

Focus on...heels!

Chloe's black strappy patent leather sandals with a purple 50mm cone heel

Cream patent leather slingbacks with a 120mm striped heel, Celine

Light brown washed leather sandals with 120mm floral carved wooden heel, Miu Miu

Details, details

Coral leather patent Marc Jacobs sandals with a large black bobble at the front above crisscross straps

Nude bags

Sand color, camel and beige, i went through all those phases of every day bags. But right now i am crazy about nude bags, meaning bags in a nude skin tone. I've just bought the Moreen Bag from Bally in such a shade, and it is completely versatile.
I can wear it with crazy colors like orange or fuchsia, to toned them down, or to light up an all brown look.
And don't forget those funky or floral prints, so trendy this spring/summer, but oh so difficult to accessorize. Take a nude bag, and voila!, problem solved!

If I'd just find the perfect pair of nude pumps, my life would be a lot easier.
