Bolder shoulder

It started one or two years ago, shy at the beginning, with puff sleeves thrown here and there on some items of every designer collection.

But this fall, the shoulder is in the highlight, bolder shoulders are everywhere, and things seem to go out of control (once again, because, oh!, the fashion scene already has seen this shoulder craziness at least one more time in the past).

The shoulder focus was on the forties, and then again back in the eighties. It was a fashion for the power woman, for woman in charge over men, for woman left to run alone the household (in the forties, all men were at war), for business woman (especially in the eighties). And in 2007, the woman takes the charge once again! And the extravagant, big shoulders are definitely back, this time even more bolder than before.

Some examples:

I don't like the large shoulders from Dsquared fur coats (top, left). We are women, not K1 fighters, you know! Next, at right, a softer approach from Emanuel Ungaro, better for my taste, but still a little too much if you ask me.
Bellow, Maison Martin Margiela reinterprets the football player's uniform, in an white t-shirt with big, square shoulders.
The only one i like in this four pictures is the black dress from Gary Graham. Big, pointy shoulders, but keeping in mind that a woman needs her silhouette!

A more relax approach in the next four pictures! Well, those are the clothes i would wear:

Anait Bian's gray suit is quite cute and Sonia Rykiel adds the exact amount of shoulder to this chic workday all-black suit.
Undercover and Topshop Unique incorporate this trend into their fall coats, creating trendy outfits, with a touch of glamour.

And at last, my favorite bolder shoulder outfit: Gucci!
